Here are a few of the latest pieces I have put together. Each piece is created from natural elements that I have collected during walks along the water and trails on Vancouver Island.

I’m starting a new project today with an acrylic painted canvas showing a sunrise over the ocean. Then I’m starting to draw in what will eventually be stones for mountains in the background and beach bonfire pebbles for the rugged coastal shores. Then I’ll be using dried twigs and green seaglass for the towering trees in the foreground as well. It’ll all end up in a large 20” x 16” black shadow box frame. This is what I’m hoping for but I might use some poetic license before it’s all said and done. Thanks for your interest and as always ROCKON !!

On a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon in August I’ve just put the finishing touches on this artwork entitled ‘Shorebirds of the Esquimalt Lagoon’. It’s framed in a white 11”x14” shadow box double matted to 8x10 with a glass front. For this piece I used driftwood from the Esquimalt Lagoon, seaglass and pebbles from various beaches around Victoria, pottery shard from Sidney and seashells from a beach at Ucluelet. All of these pieces were cleaned up in a special solution and then air dried. It’s available for sale now for $150.
